VENTNOR travelled all the way from the Isle of Wight to play just seven overs against Hook and Newnham Basics, before a thunder storm ended their Southern League Division One game.
The visitors had reached 52-1 after seven overs with Schaughn van Greunen unbeaten on 30 from 17 balls which included three sixes.
The only man out was opener James Cheek for one, being caught behind by Josh Buckingham, which gave Kieran Thomson the wicket.
Hook will be hoping for better weather today, when Bashley are the visitors for a T20 Cup quarter-final clash, which starts at 3pm.
