HOOK and Newnham Basics under-15s have qualified to play in the Regional Finals for the first time in the club’s history.

The Hook Army will travel to Millfield School in Glastonbury in Somerset to take on Exmouth on Monday.

The Hampshire side booked their place with an impressive 49 run victory at Parley.

It proved to be a tough day with in between the showers, but the visitors still managed to get to 147-7 thanks to a great skipper’s innings from Harry Robson (50 retired) and a super 31 from Will Wyatt.

Parley got off to a flyer and came off for rain at 51-1 after 7.1 overs with the game in balance.

Wyatt (1-11 off three overs) and Will Gardner (2-19 off four overs) turned the screw with seven top overs as they removed the top order.

Callum Doran (4-20) and Charlie Bland (2-9) finished them off.

Good catches and a superb show of class behind the stumps by Josh May. including a top draw stumping off the bowling of Gardner, saw Parley all out for 98.

To reach this stage of the competition Hook beat Fair Oak in the final of Hampshire Cup and then saw off Ryde to set-up the clash with Dorset side Parley.
