HOOK and Newnham Basics booked their place in the last eight of the Southern League T20 Cup, as they beat visiting Totton and Eling by 95 runs.
Some solid top order batting guided the home side to victory as Ben Thane (46) and Kieran Thomson (54) put on 72 for the first wicket.
Top scorer Josh Buckingham (60) then joined Thomson as they took the score to 160-2 Matt Buckingham (12) and Nick Willcock (22 not out) helped Hook to an impressive 220-4 after 20 overs.
Opener Mark Mbofana (35) and Jimmy Taylor (18) started the Totton reply in fine style, but the Hook bowlers soon got amongst the wickets, as the visitors went from 26 without loss to 85-8.
Anik Divecha (3-29) did most of the damage, well supported by Thomson (2-14) and Thane (2-3) from seven balls.
Totton in the end were all out for 125 in the 17th over.
