HOOK and Newnham Basics are on a revenge mission this weekend, as they travel to Liphook and Ripsley in the Southern League Division One.

Hook lost by 51 runs earlier in the season at the King George V Playing Fields, as Suman Ganguly scored an unbeaten 99 in their winning total of 246-7.

Captain Matt Love led the reply with 60, but the home side were bowled out for 195.

Since then the fortunes of the teams have changed and Hook have won their last five games and are now just three points behind new leaders Sarisbury Athletic.

Opening strike bowler Shane Brewer and middle order big hitter Nick Willcock both miss the the trip.

Hook skipper Love said: “We owe them from last time and we know they are a good team, so it is not going to be an easy.

"We are playing well at the moment so I would hope we can carry on winning. We are taking one game at a time this week and at the moment the title race is really tight.”
