HARTLEY Wintney have moved right into the promotion shake-up of the Southern League Division Two, after they completed the double over former leaders Totton and Eling.

The village side are now just one point behind second placed Totton and are also within shooting range of leaders OTs and Romsey, who they play on the final weekend of the season at home.

Before this, Hartley will hope to keep up the pressure on the top two, as they host mid table Langley Manor on Saturday.

In Hartley's six run victory over Totton the visitors were put into bat by the home side and found life tough, as opener Henry Collier (16) and Jamie Teale (12) were the only two players in the top five to get into double figures.

This was due to some excellent bowling from Jimmy Taylor with 4-18 from 10 overs and Dan Collier 1-24 from his 10 overs.

Danny Flanders then batting at number six hit 16, but it was a superb innings from number nine James Beckwith with a brilliant 67, which gave Hartley a total to bowl at as they were all out for 170.

After the early loss of opener Sam Bracey, Totton looked to cruising to victory thanks to Daniel Clouting (28) and Mark Mbofana (36), before both were removed by Teale.

After this Scott Baldwin bowled Ollie Perrin and Collier bowled a very tight spell of 0-16 from 10 overs.

However, it was the Waddington brothers who did the damage as Ollie took 4-36 and Seb 2-19 from just three overs.

They accounted for the last six batsman as Totton were all out for 160.
