HARTLEY Wintney’s winning run in Southern League Division Two came to an end at Calmore Sports, as they lost by 68 runs, after being bowled out for 168.
The home side won the toss and elected to bat and their innings was built around an excellent century from opener Matt Hardy.
He helped Calmore to 236-6 and was well supported by fellow opener Tamlyn Goodwin (33) and Benjamin Moss (39).
Seb Waddington (2-48) and Rhys Batcup (2-33) were the pick of the Hartley bowlers.
The visitors reply started well thanks to Matt Kerr (11) and top scorer Tom Garwood (38).
Captain Daniel Plume (27) also chipped in with the top order runs, but Hartley slumped from 89-2 to 105-7 and never recovered.
Batcup (18) and Ben Hyde (27) batting at number seven and eight managed to get the score past 150, but they were eventually all out for 168.
Hartley will hope to return to winning ways when they face Hambledon at home next weekend.
