HARTLEY Wintney skipper Danny Plume is hoping his side can build on their first win of the season, when they travel to Fawley in the Southern League Division Two on Saturday.

The village side enjoyed a thrilling 12-run home victory in the basement battle with visiting Bashley II.

Plume said: “It was a great all round team performance against Bashley and there was a great buzz around the club after the win.

"I really hope we can now take this on to our next game and start moving up the table.”

Unfortunately, for the trip to Fawley, Hartley will be minus all-rounder Scott Baldwin, but his place will be taken by Patrick Joseph.

Wicketkeeper Richard Hill also returns, so Matt Rudd will return to the second team.

Plume said: “From what I can remember it is nice track at Fawley, so we are looking forward to the trip and have gained a lot of confidence from last week.”
