HARTLEY Wintney looked to be building an excellent total to defend in their Southern League Division Two game at Hambledon, before the rain came to the Meon Valley.
Having been put into bat, openers Matt Kerr (25 not out) and Thomas Garwood (33) put on 67 for the first wicket.
Garwood proved to be the only man out, as he was bowled by James Atkinson.
Captain Danny Plume took up the mantle with a quick fire unbeaten 20 from 29 balls, which included two fours and a six, before play was ended after 19 overs.
Hartley are back at home next weekend, when they face a visit from early leaders Trojans.
