BASINGSTOKE and North Hants seconds are still on course for back to back promotions after they crushed Tichborne by 153 runs.

The home side were bowled out for 90, as they tried to chase down the Bountymen’s score of 243-7.

Tichborne won the toss and put Basingstoke into bat and they got off to a solid start.

Max Harsham (34) and Chris Froud (63), shared an opening stand worth 84.

Froud and Callum Coombs (51) then took the total to 125, before solid contributions from Matt Deadman (28) and Scott Dyer (29) saw the Bountymen past 200 on their way to 243-7.

Tichborne’s reply was soon in trouble, as they were reduced to 26-3, thanks to Chris Chandler (2-34) and Greg Donaldson (1-23).

Ryan Brooks (27) threatened to get the home side back on track, but the introduction of spinners Matt Thankachan (4-20) and Keith Harris (2-7) spelled the end, as they were all out for 99.

Next up for the leaders is a trip to Rowledge, who lost at Waterlooville, even if the home side only scored 121.
