BASINGSTOKE and North Hants for the second week running lost a Home Counties League game in the final over.
Last weekend, they just missed out on victory at Finchampstead, while this time around at May’s Bounty, Thame Town won with four balls to spare, as the home side hoped to hang on for a draw.
This was despite a Basingstoke record eighth wicket Home Counties League stand of 90, between Nigel Williamson (40) and Gavin Tonge (55) in the home side’s total of 253.
The Oxfordshire got home by four wickets to spare with a winning score of 254-6.
