RYAN Murray from Old Basing returned his best figures of the season so far with 4-46 in the Southern League Premier Division, as his side South Wilts enjoyed a winning draw at St Cross.

It kept his side very much in pole position in the league and one of his four victims in the game was fellow Old Basing cricketer Harry Came, who has been in great form in recent weeks hitting tons for Kent's second string.

The game saw South Wilts bat first and recovered from 76-4 to 268-7.

St Cross teenagers Billy Mead (24) and Harry Came (29) hit nine boundaries between them, early on.

Came looked in the form of his life after his centuries for Kent seconds in the past week, but he, Mead and Dan Lunn departed within one run of each other to leave Symondians wobbling at 69-4.

Came was dismissed by Murray on his way to his best figures of the season 4-46, while Luke Evans took 3-61 as St Cross finished on 230-7.
