ENGLAND pace bowler Jake Ball is coming Oakley Cricket Club on Saturday as part of special NatWest/ECB showcase club day on Saturday.

This is one of the biggest days in their long history as a village club as representatives from the ECB and Hampshire County Cricket Club come to visit.

Oakley was just one of just three national village teams chosen to be an NatWest/ECB showcase club in 2018 and the weekend will be an opportunity for players, supporters and members of the local public to come along and volunteer with pre-season groundwork duties as well as enjoying various activities.

The ECB will be represented by England and Nottinghamshire pace bowler Ball, who will be on hand to assist with duties as well as offering interviews and autograph signings and photo opportunities.

He played in the recent Ashes series in Australia.

The club are also expecting some Hampshire players to be present as well.

Ball will be at the ground from around midday and available to sign autographs from around 12.45pm.

The event will be hosted by Bob Lethaby, the chairman of Oakley CC along with Richard Lightbown of the ECB, Jake Ball of England, Simon Jones from the Hampshire Cricket Board and various other guests from the local area.

It is open to all with free ECB T-shirts and hot food for volunteers as well as various activities a licensed bar and a fund raising raffle with some great prizes on offer.
