CHRIS Wood is hoping another change of hotel will help Hampshire avoid a fifth successive Edgbaston semi-final defeat.

Wood is looking forward to playing in his fifth T20 semi-final this afternoon and his fourth at Edgbaston since his heroics inspired victory against Yorkshire in the 2012 final in Cardiff.

After two knee operations and the side strain that ruled him out of the first half of this season, the all-rounder has taken seven wickets in eight matches.

One of four in today's squad who played in Hampshire's first T20 triumph in 2010, Wood said: “We’ve had four semi-finals and lost all four times – the 2011 game is the only one I didn’t play in – so we’re changing our hotel again!

“This will be our fourth for an Edgbaston Finals Day!”

Wood added: “I’ve been lucky to get a run in the side. Reece [Topley’s] injury has given me opportunities, hopefully they back me again.”

Hampshire Cricket will proudly wear Onecom logos during Finals Day at Edgbaston after signing a sponsorship deal with the telecommunications company.

Onecom, based in Whiteley, is a long-term partner of Hampshire Cricket, and supplies connectivity, fixed and mobile telephone services to the Ageas Bowl.

The company logo will feature on the collars of all playing shirts and jumpers during Saturday’s semi-final against Nottinghamshire Outlaws.
