HARTLEY Wintney will be looking to complete their first double of the Southern League Division Two campaign, when they entertain Sparsholt on Saturday.

When these sides met earlier in the season at the Norman Edwards Cricket Ground, visiting Hartley won by two wickets.

They bowled the home side out for 149, as Jamie Teale (3-34) led the way and there was two wickets each for Rhys Batcup and Henry Collier.

The visitor’s reply was build around an excellent 79 from 77 balls from opener Collier as Hartley won with 10 overs to spare.

This was despite Jeremy Frith taking 6-21.

Saturday’s game at the Village Green has added importance for both sides as they are just outside of the promotion places.

Sparsholt are third with Hartley one place below them in the Division Two and another loss for either side would see them lose further ground on second placed OTs and Romsey.

It is a busy weekend for Hartley, as on Sunday they are in Southern League T20 Cup second round action at OTs and Romsey, with a place in the last eight up for grabs.

Last weekend, Hartley went down by four wickets at promotion rivals OTs and Romsey, after being bowled out for 127.
