THE draw for the first round of the Finch Group Guy Jewell Cup has been made, with a total of 25 teams taking part this summer, looking to get their hands on the top cricket trophy in north Hampshire.

This season’s opening game will take place on Thursday May 4 when Odiham and Greywell take on Rotherwick ITW.

The following Monday at the same venue, Ramsdell are against Basingstoke Hockey.

Oakley will face Ashford Hill on Thursday May 11, while Andover take on Chawton on Monday May 22 and three days later Overton will battle it out with Chineham Rugby.

The remaining three games in the first round draw have yet to be scheduled and they are as follows Stratfield Turgis v Hook and Newnham Basics B, AWE Tadley v Binsted and Kingsclere v East Woodhay.

Herriard and St Mary’s were given byes into the second round, while five teams Hartley Wintney, Yateley, Hook and Newnham Basics A, Rotherfield Park and Basingstoke and North Hants have been seeded into round two.

Teams that are first game losers may enter the Finch Group Cyril Thompson Plate if they wish.
