THE Southern Vipers will have another England international playing for them this year in Danielle Wyatt.

Last year’s Kia Super League-winning quartet - Charlotte Edwards, Suzie Bates, Tash Farrant and Arran Brindle -all return for the Ageas Bowl based Vipers.

And all-rounder Wyatt’s switch from Lancashire Thunder was revealed by the England and Wales Cricket Board’s announcement of player allocations.

The Vipers also have two new overseas players alongside New Zealand’s Suzie Bates in Dane van Niekerk (South Africa) and Hayley Matthews (West Indies).

Southern Vipers manager Bob Parks said: “This is a great time for the Vipers as we welcome new players to the squad. Suzie Bates was with us last year, but all three overseas players have Super League experience and will fit perfectly into our style of play.

“Tash Farrant and new arrival Danni Wyatt have been training hard with the England squad ahead of this year’s Women’s World Cup.

“Tash made an important contribution to our KSL success last year whilst Danni was a major player for Lancashire Lightning. Her outstanding fielding skills will certainly add value to our team. I can’t wait to get started!

After the success of the first Kia Super League last summer, the second season will see six teams taking part in a round-robin competition over a 17-day period and across 13 different venues from Thursday, August 10 to Saturday, August 26.

The competition will then climax in a showcase finals day on Friday September 1 at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove.

The Southern Vipers’ televised home fixture this season is against Western Storm on Thursday, August 10 ahead of Hampshire’s NatWest T20 Blast game against Glamorgan.
