BASINGSTOKE and North Hants’ youngsters will play Fair Oak in the Hampshire Under-19 T20 Cup semi-finals at Mays Bounty on Sunday (10.30am).

If successful, the young Bountymen will face either hot favourites Bournemouth or New Milton who play at 1.30pm in the final at 4.30pm.

Basingstoke and North Hants won through to the final four after a dramatic seven-wicket win with two balls to spare at drizzly Waterlooville, achieved with just two balls to spare Chasing the Ville’s 138-9 Archie Reynolds (50 not out), Joe Oates (41) and Matt Deadman (33) had steered Basingstoke to 122-3 by the end of the 18th over.

They needed nine off the last over when Harry Smith hit a towering six to effectively seal the win.

Bournemouth, who appear to have the strongest squad, won at Hook & Newnham Basics by 27 runs.

Jamie Price (36), Harrison Clarke (32) and Robbie Pack (20 not out) guided Bournemouth to 157-6 while Hook, having lost their first two wickets without a run scored, made 130-6 in reply.

Openers Kieran Thomson and Alex Brown departed without a run on the board.

Rhodes Franklin stepped up to hit a valiant 50 (two sixes and six fours) off 34 balls, but despite efforts from Jack Robson (28) and Will Buckingham (31), Hook finished 27 runs adrift.
