BASINGSTOKE and North Hants kept the pressure up on the Southern League Division One leaders, as they won at Rowledge by seven wickets.

The home side won the toss and elected to bat and Martyn James struck first ball to dismiss Nick Morant.

Rowledge recovered as they moved to 157-3, as Sam Moseley hit a half century.

Skipper Mitch Stokes (3-21) then stopped the innings in its tracks and the tail failed to add many runs as they were all out for 203, thanks to Will Phillips (2-21) and Matt Thankachan (2-32).

The Bountymen made an excellent start in their reply, as Dan Belcher (27) and Craig Williamson (94) shared 79 runs for the first wicket.

Mitch Stokes (5) departed shortly afterwards, but Vinn (44 not out) and Williamson added 81 runs for the third wicket.

Williamson was the last man out, as his superb knock, which included 14 fours was ended six runs short of a century.

It was left to Vinn and Phillips to complete the win with eight balls to spare.

George Keeley was the top Rowledge bowler with 2-41.

Next weekend, the Bountymen are at home to Portsmouth.
