BASINGSTOKE and North Hants will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday, when Totton and Eling are the visitors to May’s Bounty in the Southern League Division One.

The Bountymen will be looking for a hat-trick of wins of the visitors this season having beaten them in the Club Championship and league already.

Basingstoke suffered a narrow 10-run loss against leaders Andover in what skipper Mitch Stokes described as their worst fielding display of the season.

Stokes said: “It was very disappointing as we bowled well enough, but missed catches and run outs and they became the first team to score over 200 against this season.

"We were in with a chance when Will Phillips and Brad Neal were together, but when they got Neal out it proved to be the end."

The Bountymen will make one change for the visit of Totton, with Craig Williamson unavailable, Ben Julin, who top scored for the seconds last weekend, comes in.

Stokes said: “They are a team in transition having lost nine players at the start of the season. We are playing at home so I hope we can turn in a performance and win.”

Last weekend, at Andover, Stokes won the toss and put the home side into bat and they scored 248-8. Ryan Connor (4-56) proved to be the top Basingstoke bowler.

Daniel Belcher (30) and Williamson (29) made a solid start in the Bountymen’s reply, as they put on 55 for the first wicket.

However, Phillips (89 not out), Neal (38) and Matt Thankachan (17) were the only other players to make double figures. In the end, Phillips ran out of partners as Basingstoke were all out for 238.
