HARRY Came had a great day with bat and ball as Hook and Newnham Basics made it three wins on the trot, as they beat visiting Southern League Division One leaders Sarisbury Athletic by six wickets.

The teenager took four wickets, as Sarisbury were bowled out for 209 and then scored an unbeaten 52 to guide his side to victory.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat and Jordan Hobday (3-40) made early inroads into the top order.

Some useful middle order batting from Harry Hovey (34) and Jack Lovett (46) built the foundation for the innings, with number seven Michael Journeaux top scoring with 52.

However, Came (4-45) removed both Lovett and Journeaux as Sarisbury were all out for 209 after 50 overs.

The home side suffered the early loss of Kieran Thomson and Hobday, but opener Ben Thane (72) and captain Matt Love (39) set about plotting the home side’s victory.

It was left to Came and Nick Willcock (11) to complete the job with eight overs to spare.

Hook will hope to continue their winning streak when they travel to Portsmouth.
