HOOK and Newnham Basics lost their Hampshire League County Division One top of the table clash against visiting Alton.

The visitors batted first and despite Glen Williams (3-39) and Alex Cates (2-49) Alton made 227-6. The home side were then bowled out for 124 as Matt Buckingham top scored with 37 and Will Buckingham was the next best on 20.

Basingstoke and North Hants IIIs moved up to fourth in County Division Two, as they won at Fair Oak II by seven wickets. The home side made 187-6 and then thanks to an unbroken fourth wicket stand between Andy Neal (70) and Mandeep Sharma (52).

Old Basing made it two wins on the trot as Bon Selvin’s 78 not out helped them to winning total of 239-8 and then visiting Rowledge II were bowled out for 142.

Hartley Wintney moved up to eighth in County Division Three North after a 71-run victory at Littleton.

The visitors batted first and were all out for 123 as Dan Bowles top scored with 57. Dev Buttar (4-21) and Ben Hyde (4-20) then ripped through the home side as they shot out for 52.

Overton’s Dan Johnson scored an unbeaten 118, but it was all in vain, as Overton total of 235-7 proved not enough as they lost by four wickets to Redlynch and Hale.

Hook III were bowled out for 85 as they lost to Michelmersh (283-3).

Odiham and Greywell continue to head County Division Four North after a seven wicket win at Wherwell.

The home side were bowled out for 74, as Tom Wiltshire took 3-21 and then Kyran Munt hit an unbeaten 37 in their winning total of 75-3.

Whitchurch are still second after they won at Bentworth. The visitors scored 251-5 and then bowled out the home side for 120.

Ramsdell are up to fourth after beating Old Alresford by three wickets. Dave Monger (5-29) made sure Alresford bowled out 137 and then Jonny Bradley (30 not out) and Monger (25 not out) made sure of the win.

AWE Tadley also moved up the table to seventh after an eight wicket success over visiting Ashford Hill.

Jay Ahuji top scored with 49 for the visitors were bowled out for 137, as Jack Parsons took 3-29.

An unbroken third wicket stand worth 78 between Will Belford (41) and Dave Pilling (46) steered the home side to victory.

Oakley (151) lost by 47 runs at Tichborne Park (198-9). Basingstoke IV lost a thriller with Hurstbourne Priors at Castle Field.

Chasing 238 for victory, the Bountymen just fell short by four runs as they recovered from 85-7 to 233-7 thanks to an unbroken eighth wicket stand between AK Sankaranarayanan (93) and Jordan Coombs (68).
