Reece Topley has been ruled out for up to eight weeks after fracturing a hand on the first day of his Hampshire debut.
The England limited-overs star, who has seen a specialist since being struck on the right hand by Warwickshire's Boyd Rankin on Sunday, is out for between six to eight weeks.
He will miss at least the first five of Hampshire's 16 Specsavers County Championship matches but will hope to be back for the opening Natwest T20 Blast game against Middlesex at Uxbridge on May 27.
