HARTLEY Wintney will play in front of a sell-out 1,300 crowd on Saturday, when they entertain Hereford in the fifth round of the FA Vase.

The all ticket game had been due to be played last weekend, but despite the hard work of the club, heavy overnight rain on Friday caused the game to be postponed.

This meant both sides were in the hat for the quarter-final draw on Monday lunchtime and know they will have a home tie against Camberley Town in the last eight of the competition.

Hereford will arrive in Hampshire, as hot favourites to win the tie, as they are unbeaten in 28 games this season, winning the first 27.

So Hartley will be hoping to produce a giant killing and plotting their downfall will be Hartley's joint managers Daniel Brownlie and Anthony Merrick.

Brownlie said: "Saturday will be a great occasion for the club and a deserved fixture for the boys, they'll be wanting to put on a performance.

"Thankfully we go into the game with a full squad to chose from, so Millers and I will be putting our heads together to create a team capable of winning such a monumental tie."

On Tuesday night, Hartley suffered a rare loss, as they were beaten 1-0 by visiting Chessington and Hook in the Combined Counties Challenge Cup.

Talking about the defeat Brownlie said: "It was a bitterly disappointing result and performance. We had a couple of changes but that would not have diluted the quality. Credit to Chessington who played well throughout, we were just not at it."

After Saturday's FA Vase clash, Hartley return to league action on Tuesday night, when they entertain Chertsey Town.
