BRAD Taylor captained England U19s to a record 299-run victory in their opening U19s World Cup game against Fiji in Bangladesh.
The Hampshire off-spinner took the penultimate wicket as the U19 World Cup debutants were bowled out for 72 in reply to England's 371-3, which included centuries for Essex opener Dan Lawrence (174) and Durham's Jack Burnham (148).
Taylor finished with 1-8 from 3.3 overs and Hampshire leg-spinner Mason Crane took 0-12 from five after new-ball pair Saqib Mahmood (3-2) and Sam Curran (3-22) took six wickets between them.
The victory is England U19s' biggest by a runs margin in a 50-over game, surpassing a 213-run win against Uganda at the 2004 World Cup under Alastair Cook, also in Chittagong.
It is the third biggest runs win in Under-19 ODI history, behind victories of 430 runs and 301 runs, by Australia and West Indies against Kenya and Scotland respectively, at the 2002 World Cup.
Next up for Taylor's side is their second group game against West Indies, also in Chittagong, on Friday.
