A QUARTET of local teams will spend next season in the Hampshire Cricket League county divisions after winning promotion from Regional Division One North.

A restructuring of the system means that the top eight sides will go up, so Odiham and Greywell, Ramsdell, Ashford Hill and Basingstoke and North Hants IV will all be promoted.

Long-time leaders Odiham and Greywell had to settle for second place despite winning their final game of the season by seven wickets. Hosts St Mary Bourne were restricted to 142-8 and Philip Thomas made 50 in Odiham's winning reply.

Ashford Hill finished seventh after their final game, a trip to Longparish II, was rained off, while Basingstoke and North Hants III ended up eighth despite losing their last game.

Old Basing III also lost, going down by seven wickets at home to Stockbridge after being restricted to 132-9. Odiham and Greywell II's home game against Twyford was rained off.

Despite losing their final game of the season away at Overton III, Oakley II finished third in Division Three North East and will be promoted.

Adam Soane hit 75 and Andy Gould 61 as Overton made 245 and while Will Bentley made 53, Oakley could only muster 132 in reply.

St Mary's will also go up after finishing second, though their final game was washed out.
