Basingstoke and North Hants second team’s faint hopes of Southern League Division Three promotion were ended as they lost by six wickets at Gosport Borough.
The visitors batting first were bowled out for 178 as Ben Bissoon (69) and Joe Oates (41) did best with the bat and shared a sixth wicket partnership worth 81 runs.
Gosport’s Matt Johnson (3-47) and Craig Stares (3-30) were the top bowlers for the home side.
The south Hampshire side’s reply was led by Blake Maher (60) and Simon Creal (43) as they shared a third wicket partnership worth 57 as they reached a winning total of 180 losing just four wickets.
Basingstoke spinner Keith Harris was chief wicket taker with a brace.
The Bountymen have their final home game on Saturday when Havant II are the visitors.
