BLUEWAVE Korean Martial Arts continued their excellent start to the season, with more success at the Taekwondo Chungdokwan Great Britain Championships in Bracknell.

In the poomsae category there was a hat-trick of gold medals for Coleen Reilly, Amy Stock and Sean Carstens.

There were also two silver medals for Olwen Barton and Ria Mistry, while Luke Vanden, Cullen Walker, Lynne Firth, Matthew Bridge, Caitlin Walker, Milan Mistry, Sian Reilly and Rachel Harman all won bronze medals.

This high standard earned the club third place in the team trophy for Poomsae.

Those competing in the sparring category, showed the benefits from a seminar from London Olympian Martin Stamper, who had attended at the club, two weeks before the competition.

The two outstanding sparring performances came from Kacper Nowak and Cullen Walker.

Nowak show excellent ring management to decisively win his first match 15-1 with well time body counter shots delivering the points. He then won his final 21-9, after a close start to the match.

Cullen used a very different style to Nowak, with fast head shot attacks to overwhelm his first semi-final opponent 13-2 and then won the final 9-0.

There were also six silver medals from Ahan Sen, Alex Stock, Amy Stock, Anushka Sen, Ibrahim Salman and Matthew Bridge Completing the medal haul was a hat-trick of bronze medals for Olwen Barton, Ryan Vanden and Sean Carstens.

Gerry Reilly and Sian Reilly were both involved as officials at the event, with Gerry Reilly, the head of one of rings as a poomsae judge and Sian Reilly acting as a corner judge for the sparring competition.
