Michael Carberry was out cheaply but Hampshire signing Yasir Arafat starred with bat and ball as Perth Scorchers went second in the Big Bash table.

Batting at number three, Hampshire star Carberry hit one boundary during his 17-ball knock.

But former Hampshire batsman Adam Voges made an unbeaten 54 (36 balls) and Yasir Arafat hit an unbeaten 18 from 12 balls during the last two overs as Perth made 133-6.

And then Arafat (2-30) took two wickets in as many overs as Adelaide Strikers were bowled out for 115 in reply, securing a third win in four games for the Scorchers, in front of an Adelaide Oval crowd of 42,654.

Fomer Sussex star Arafat will be playing for Hampshire in limited-overs cricket during the forthcoming county season.
