Basingstoke and North Hants youngsters suffer first defeat of indoor season
BASINGSTOKE and North Hants suffered their first defeat of the season in the NatWest under-16 Indoor Cricket League played at the Ageas Bowl.
They lost to Parley Sports by 13 runs despite bowling their opponents out for 143 – thanks to Shay Bradley (2-31) and Ashley Neal (2-27).
Basingstoke’s reply reached 130-4 with Neal (38 not out), Joe Oates (35) and Bradley (26 not out) amongst the runs.
Earlier on the same day, Basingstoke enjoyed an eight-wicket victory over the Isle of Wight, who were bowled out for 140.
In reply, Matt Deadman hit an unbeaten 26 and Ashley Neal finished 25 not out in their winning score of 141-2.
