THE Basingstoke Bison Ladies returned to the top of South One thanks to two wins.
The first was 4-1 success away at the Oxford Midnight Stars, followed by a 2-0 victory at home to the Solent Amazons.
In Oxford, the Ladies opened the scoring at 1:21, as Jennie Agass fired a shot in from the point, which the goalie padded away, but Mickey Walker tapped in the rebound. The Stars then levelled things by end of the first period.
With just over six minutes gone in the second period, Hannah Byrom found the top shelf to restore the lead.
The Bison Ladies sealed the win in the third period with a goal from Jodie Attrill, assisted by Aniko Gaal and then Byrom bagged her second goal of the game from Walker.
On Sunday in Basingstoke, the first period was a tough battle as it ended 0-0, as the Solent netminder turned away 18 shots she faced.
The game then became more physical in the second period with a few penalties. With just over half the game gone the deadlock was broken, thanks to a back hand shot from Jodie Attrill assisted by Byrom.
The final period saw the Ladies come out with more firepower which sealed the win with four minutes remaining as Byrom blasted a shot in off the post, assisted by Attrill and Gaal. Katherine Robinson recorded the shut-out.
