THE Basingstoke Bison open both their league and National Cup campaign this weekend.
On Saturday night (6.30pm), the Herd face Invicta Dynamos in their first South One contest, while on Sunday they start their cup quest away at the Telford Tigers.
Adding extra spice to the league encounter is summer Bison signings from Invicta Ashley Jackson and Elliott Dewey will face their former team.
The Herd will draft in Sam Brooks from the Buffalo for the game in place of the unavailable Hallam Wilson.
On Sunday, the Herd lock horns with last season’s EPL champions Telford which will see former Herd man Joe Miller face his former team.
Ahead of the weekend, head coach Doug Sheppard said: “This is a big weekend right off the bat and two games we will be looking to win. Both will be tough, but I was pleased with the way we played in pre-season so I am looking forward to the season.”
