THE Basingstoke Bison Ladies completed an excellent season, as they finished runners-up in the Women’s Division One at Ice Sheffield.
The Ladies qualified for the finals after finishing second in the Division One South and in the semi-finals they met Northern champions the Telford Wrekin Raiders.
After a goal less first period, the Basingstoke side took the lead from Jodie Attrill assisted by Elise Willoughby and most valuable player Aniko Gaal.
Attrill doubled their advantage, as she converted a pass from Gaal and it remained 2-0 to the second session buzzer.
Telford pulled a goal early in the final period, but Peri Edmiston extended the Ladies to two goals, before the Raiders set-up a tense finale as they made it 3-2 with two minutes to go.
The victory set-up an all Southern final as the Bison Ladies once more took on the side that finished above them in the league the Bracknell Firebees.
The Berkshire outfit proved too good again unfortunately as they won 6-2 with Gaal and Attrill scoring the Basingstoke’s goals.
Hannah Byrom was the Bison Ladies’ most valuable player in the final.
