BASINGSTOKE Bison head coach Doug Sheppard was a happy man after another four point weekend.

The Herd enjoyed a 4-2 success over the Guildford Flames and then Tomas Hiadlovsky recorded his sixth shut-out of the season as the Bison won in Sheffield 3-0.

Sheppard said : "It was a good weekend and for me the Sheffield was the most pleasing as I felt we played a very smart road game."

The victories moved the Herd to one point behind third placed Peterborough Phantoms with both sides having two games left to play.

This weekend, the Bison have no games, with their next match a week on Saturday away at Swindon.

Sheppard said: "We still have a chance of third and having a weekend will give he guys the chance to rest ahead of what is a busy play-off schedule. This is what we are gearing up to now."
