THE Basingstoke Bison failed to make it seven straight wins, as they lost at the Peterborough Phantoms 4-1.

The visitors had the better of the opening 20 minutes, but were unable to find a way past Janis Auzins in the home net.

The second session saw the Phantoms take the lead in the contest, as Ales Padelek netted.

The same import forward then doubled the advantage four minutes later at 29:45.

The Herd hauled themselves back into the contest, thanks to a two man advantage, as Ciaran Long scored on the powerplay assisted by Derek Roehl and Dan Davies.

Peterborough hit back with their own powerplay strike from Tom Norton, to make it 3-1 at the second buzzer.

The visitors had a great chance to close the gap at the mid point of the final session when given a two man advantage, but they were unable to find a way past Auzins.

Then two minutes later, Bison netminder hauled down Edgars Bebris and the home side were awarded a penalty shot.

The first the Herd have conceded all this season and Bebris made no mistake with the shot, as he completed the 4-1 victory.

Next up for the Bison is a home game against the league leaders the Telford Tigers at home on Saturday (6.30pm) and they will keen to bounce back to winning ways.
