AS I write this, there’ll be hundreds of Bison fans on phones and laptops today booking tickets for the Play-off Finals in Coventry in April.

Let’s hope we’ll all be there, with something to celebrate.

We played our last away game against Guildford last Wednesday.

These games are always closely fought in front of sell-out crowds. On this occasion, Guildford won by a single goal.

I thought we stepped up our performance in the third period, and carried that momentum into our game at home on Saturday against Milton Keynes.

Next season Milton Keynes are moving into the Elite League, so this was their last league appearance in Basingstoke.

They took the lead twice in the game, but our heads never dropped.

Ciaran Long is enjoying a great run of form at the moment; it was no surprise that he scored the winning goal.

There are only two more home games to play. So far we’ve had 17 wins out of 22.

That’s part of the reason so many people follow the sport here; watching your team win is more fun than watching them lose.

But I think on Saturday everyone enjoyed the intensity of the game.

Of course we want to play our hardest every game, but that’s not so easy in the middle of a 48 game season.

Now everyone is raising their game as we move towards the end of the season.

That’s why play-off hockey is so exciting. I thought Saturday’s game had that energy and edge.

There’s a new format this year to qualify for the play-offs.

We’ll have six games in a two week period, as teams in groups of four play each other home and away.

More excitement, more drama. In the meantime, let’s keep on winning.
