WE ARE looking forward to playing in front of our own fans this weekend when we entertain Peterborough Phantoms.

We’ve been on the road for our last three games.

I want to thank all those fans who have been on the road with us at a very busy time of the year.

We have appreciated your support. However many of you there are, it is amazing how much noise Basingstoke fans can make, usually drowning out the locals.

I hope you feel we gave you plenty to shout about.

Although we won only one of the three away games, I thought we performed well in all three games.

We knew how desperate Swindon would be to win on their own ice.

They had lost the previous three games against us and probably just deserved their narrow win.

It was our turn the following week to visit a team who had beaten us on three previous occasions.

We were without two of our forwards, Joe Miller and Joe Rand, so our win against Guildford was especially pleasing.

But in sport you don’t always get what you deserve. The record books will show we lost against Milton Keynes the next night in a very tight game, but we were gutted not to come away with any points.

But we will take the confidence that we gained on the road into our games this weekend.

It’s always important to understand what stats really tell us.

Yes, we got two points out of six, but we got much more than that. We have the confidence and momentum to put on a good performance in front of our own fans, and to follow it up on Sunday evening in Bracknell.

We’ve got a lot to look forward to in 2017.
