DEFEATING Peterborough in back to back games gave us our sixth consecutive win.

As a team affected in December by an ever-growing injury list, we couldn’t have asked for a better run of wins during a hectic Christmas schedule, when it is so easy to lose focus.

We love playing but we also enjoy being with our families and friends.

Grant Rounding and Tom Karpov were injured during training. Tom hoped he had recovered but was unable to finish the game in Sheffield.

Alan Lack also left this game. Alex Symonds remains on the long-term injury list. Tomas Hiadlovsky had resumed training but picked up another injury.

As cover for Grant, we were delighted to sign Matt Towalski, who will be with us for the remainder of the season. We’ve been hit so hard with injuries I came off the bench to play in three of the games.

We had three consecutive games over the holiday period, two of which were away in Swindon and Guildford. Fans travelled in large numbers to both games and encouraged us on to two important wins. A really solid team performance helped us to shut out Swindon.

In Guildford, we dug deep to come back into the game and win in overtime.

A shut-out, of course, reflects the performance of the goal-tender and Jon Baston is giving the players in front of him great confidence with his form at present.

He followed up his performance in Swindon with two shut-outs against Peterborough. He fully deserved his man of the match award.

The team was also lifted by the return of Alan Lack and by the availability of Joe Rand. Since he stepped aside from regular hockey, Joe’s playing some of his best hockey in a Bison shirt.

With both League games and Cup semi-finals to look forward to this month, confidence is sky-high.
