OUR unbeaten home run ended on Saturday in a very close fought game against Peterborough.

Of course it was disappointing, but we can look back with pride on those previous 13 home wins, which is a Bison EPL record.

I can’t fault the effort we put into the game. We out shot our opponents but we also took more penalties and you can’t do that against a team as efficient as the present league leaders.

You lose momentum and penalty killing drains your energy.

Not that the guys looked tired as they swarmed around the Peterborough net in the final minutes of the game desperately looking for the goal that would tie would the game.

Joe Rand has been away from the game for a few weeks, but coming in as cover for the injured Tomas Karpov, he was as effective as ever.

It’s great to know we can call on him when needed, knowing what he has to offer the team.

Now four out of our next five games are on the road, so we’ve got the chance to start building a better away record.

The next time we play at home is against Bracknell on Sunday December 27. That’s when we hold our Teddy Bear Toss in support of Naomi House. If you’re bringing a bear, make sure it’s well-wrapped. The rink can be cold.

We are always looking for ways to involve ourselves in the life of the community that has so generously supported the club.

We want to thank our sponsors, our volunteers and our fans and we wish you all a great Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

We’re well placed in the league and have qualified for the semi-finals of the cup, so there’s a lot to look forward to in 2016.
