FOR the last month we’ve been searching for consistency in our game.

Just when I think we have turned a corner, we take a step back.

For us to have success we need to get better every day and certainly from week to week.

We showed a lot of character to come back and beat Guildford at home in front of a huge Friday night crowd.

There’s no excuse for coming out as flat as we did, especially coming off the gut-wrenching loss to Peterborough the week before.

You would think we would have learned a lesson and come out with the energy and focus it takes to win the following night against Milton Keynes.

The opposite happened as we fell 2-0 behind early in the game and eventually suffered our biggest defeat with an 8-2 loss.

We’re one of four teams at the top of the league and we’ve already seen a lot of Guildford, Milton Keynes and Peterborough.

We’re very closely bunched, but we all know Telford will move up the table as the season progresses.

And there are other teams who have shown themselves to be very competitive.

This weekend we take on Sheffield away and then host Swindon on Sunday evening.

It will be interesting to meet these teams for the first time this season.

Coming back from a two-goal deficit last Friday was very dramatic and kept our fans on the edge of their seats, but everyone on the team knows that if we are to be successful then we need to find some consistency.

That is certainly what I’ll be stressing when we get back to training this week.
