THE Basingstoke Bison Ladies came from behind to beat the Oxford Midnight Stars 8-6, in a close battle last Sunday.

The victory keeps them one point clear at the top of South One and they next in action this weekend away at the Swindon Topcats.

The Wiltshire side then travel to Basingstoke for the Bison Ladies' next home game on April 29 (6.15pm).

Last Sunday, Oxford took the lead in the first period after seven minutes, but the Bison fought back lead 2-1 at the first buzzer.

Jodie Milsom netted the first and then Aniko Gaal converted a pass from Hannah Driver.

Stars came out hard and fast in the second period scoring in under a minute, and added another shortly after to take the lead again.

Late in the second period, Oxford slotted home another goal, before the Bison returned the favour 11 seconds later as Hannah Byrom fired into the top-shelf to make it 4-3 at the second break.

The Bison showed true character in the third period with Jodie Attrill scored from Kay Carrington-Fisher, before Oxford replied.

After this the home side took control as Attrill netted her second and Byrom completed her hat-trick to make it 7-5 at 54:17.

The visitors scored again, but Attrill completed a five point haul, with her hat-trick goal a minute later, assisted by Elsie Willoughby.
