THE Basingstoke Bison have a chance of a quick league double, as they travel to the Streatham this Sunday.
The Herd will be looking for their sixth straight win with their fifth victory, being a penalty shot win over Bracknell last Sunday, in which Josh Smith scored twice in the game and the shoot-out.
Bison head coach Doug Sheppard was pleased with the win and said: “We showed heart and character in comeback and win in Bracknell. (Ryan) Sutton got us a huge goal to start with and Smithy (Josh Smith) scored twice and was excellent in the shoot-out. It was great to get secondary scoring.”
He will be hoping for the same on Sunday in Streatham, with Dan Davies, Stuart Mogg and Grant Rounding set to sit out again, while Paul Petts is back.
Ashley Jackson has also left the club and Sheppard said: "Both of us agreed this was the best move, as it has not worked out for him in Basingstoke."
Looking ahead to Sunday's game Sheppard said: “I don’t think Streatham or ourselves played well last weekend, so I am expecting a much better game this weekend.”
