OSCAR Evans and Hallam Wilson both bagged braces, as the Buffalo returned to winning ways with a 6-3 victory over the visiting Invicta Mustangs.

The game was snapped open with two goals in the space of 34 seconds from the home side, as Blair Dubyk produced a nice finish from Sam Brooks and then Wilson and Evans combined for Evans to score.

The visitors hit back almost immediately from Michael Stokes, but Wilson weaved his way through the Mustang defence to restore the two goal lead by the first buzzer.

The opening seconds of the second period, saw some superb play Invicta with James Laming netting.

Buffalo netminder Aaron Craft, then had to be at his best to deny an Invicta powerplay, before the home side scored with their own man advantage.

Forward line of Cameron Buckle, Brooke and Josh Richards combined well for Buckle to score a beautiful goal. A minute later, the Evans and Wilson partnership produced another sublime goal, with Wilson feeding off an Evans pass, ably assisted by Sam Compton.

The Buffalo increased their lead to 6-2, as man of the match Evans netted his second from Richards and Marcus Russell.

The third period saw end to end hockey with both sides giving their all, but there was only one goal scored by Invicta’s Luke Thirkeetle.

This Sunday, the Buffalo are away today at Guildford.
