THE Basingstoke Bison return to league action this weekend, with a visit from the London Raiders on Saturday (6.30pm), before a trip to Gillingham to face the Invicta Dynamos on Sunday (5.15pm).

The Herd have played just one league game so far this season, which saw them win 4-0 over Invicta on the opening day of the season.

After this they have had some mixed form in the National Cup and also chalking up two wins out of two in the Autumn Trophy.

Saturday’s visitors the London Raiders include the top import in South One last season, Slovak Juraj Huska and warmed up for the trip to Basingstoke with an 11-1 thrashing of Invicta last Sunday.

Basingstoke will be minus injured defenceman Stuart Mogg and fellow league championships winner Dan Lackey has returned to play for the Buffalo.

Bison head coach Doug Sheppard thanked the forward for his time with the Herd and said: “Dan came in a couple of years ago and helped us out and we wish him all the best with the Buffalo.”

Focusing on his weekend, Sheppard said: “We are not playing as well as I would like at the moment and we have two tough games. London have a couple of good imports and Invicta are always a better team on their own ice.”
