THE Basingstoke Bison have added two more fans’ favourites to their impressive looking line-up for the up-coming season, with the signing of Dean Skinns and the re-signing of Stuart Mogg.

Netminder Skinns is no stranger to winning silverware with the Herd, having been between the pipes when they won the double in season 2014/15.

The 32-year-old Basingstoke-born shot stopper has made 351 leagues appearances for his hometown team, with only Kurt Reynolds and Tony Redmond having made more.

He has seven shut-outs for the Bison, which puts him level at the top of list with Curtis Cruickshank and the man he replaces Tomas Hiadlovsky.

Last season, he recorded a shut-out against the Herd on his Guildford Fames debut in Basingstoke and finished the season with an 89 per cent save rate.

The year before he played for the Milton Keynes Lightning, where he had a career high 91 per cent.

This will be his ninth season in Basingstoke having made his debut for the team in the autumn of 2001.

Defenceman Mogg is back for a fifth full season and like Skinns is another product of the Bison junior programme.

The Basingstoke-born player was also part of the Herd's double winning team and their league championship winning team.

The 22-year-old, who has over 200 league appearances with the club, returned 15 league points last season, which took his tally for the team to 50.

In doing so he became only the 66th player to have reached this landmark with the Herd and it also makes him the 13th all-time points scoring defenceman in the club’s history.

A delighted Doug Sheppard said: “These two players are very important pieces of the team, as I feel a strong defence wins you championships. I am delighted to have both of them back with the Bison.”
