THE Basingstoke Buffalo returned to winning ways in great style with an 8-2 victory over the visiting Bristol Pitbulls.

The home side took just 78 seconds to take the lead as Cameron Buckle netted and by the first buzzer they led 2-0, as Sam Brooks scored assisted by Kyle Goddard.

The second session saw the Buffalo score two more unanswered goals, as Michael Gorman converted a pass from Paul Petts, and then Michael Gorman netted.

The Pitbulls cause was not helped during the session as Hargreaves brothers Michael and Richard both took 10 minute misconduct penalties joining Grant Richardson in the sin bin after he received a 2+10 penalty.

Greg Martyn extended the lead to 5-0, before Bristol pulled a goal back from Joshua Galea.

Warren Jones, who finished the game with four points, was the next Buffalo to score, before Bristol got their second from Adrian Smith.

The home side backed by 1 Space Services added two more goals from Jones and Jack Standing to complete the win. Netminder Sam Calder was the Buffalo man of the match.

Their next home game is on March 5, when leaders Cardiff Fire are the visitors.

Before the Buffalo's game the under-11 Bison enjoyed a 5-1 victory over the visiting Cardiff Devils.

After a goalless first period, a brace from Brandon West put them in control.

The Welsh side pulled a goal back from Bobby Regan, but the young Herd netted three unanswered goals in the final session.

Two came from Oliver Hemming-Maher and Harrison Halin, while Jessica Banner picked up an assist.

The under-15 Bison were not so lucky at Cardiff as they lost 6-5.

Emily Harris scored the opening goal from Thomas Banner and then Cian Russell converted a pass from Travis Penny, which made it 2-2.

The Bison took the lead from William Birch, but Cardiff replied to make it 6-3.

The visitors kept going with Alexander Smith and Oliver Bower both scoring, but they were unable to force an equaliser.
