YOU wait for your first empty net goal of the season away from home to come along and then like buses you get two in the same game.

This is what happened to the Bison last night, as Derek Roehl and Ciaran Long both scored empty net markers in the Bison's 4-1victory in Telford.

For the English Premier League leaders it was their first loss on home ice.

The Tigers had been hoping to complete a clean sweep of wins over the Herd, but ran into penalty trouble in the first session with Corey McEwen being dismissed for a check to the head on Bison man of the match Kurt Reynolds.

The home side killed off the five minute powerplay back stopped by Sam Gospel, as former Bison goalie Jon Baston watched on.

The contest was finally snapped open with two goals in the space of 16 seconds in the middle session.

Matt Towalski netted the first from Joe Rand at 33:41 and before the visiting fans had a chance to finish their celebrations Long had added a second.

The final period saw the Tigers trying to get themselves back into the game and the Bison's cause was not helped when Reynolds picked up a 10 minute misconduct penalty at 47:23.

As the clock ticked down the Tigers pulled their netminder, but the move backfired as Roehl hit the empty net.

Then with 1:12 left in the game Telford man of the match Matty Davies broke Tomas Hiadlovsky's shut-out.

So now with the score at 3-1, the Tigers pulled their netminder again and once again the Bison scored, this time from Long with 35 seconds left to wrap up a great win.

Next for the Bison is a home game against their arch rivals the Bracknell Bees, where the Herd will hope to complete a clean sweep of wins over their near neighbours.
