THE Basingstoke Bison will look to continue the excellent form they showed last weekend, when the Sheffield Steeldogs come to town on Saturday (6.30pm).

The Herd hammered in 11 goals last weekend in two very good wins. The Steeldogs have certainly lost their bite in recent weeks with just one win in seven games.

The Yorkshire have also lost on their two previous visits to Basingstoke.

The Herd are expected to still be without British forward Joe Miller, as they look to complete their first clean sweep of home wins in the league this season.

Bison head coach Doug Sheppard said: “I want us to carry on the way we played last week and continue our winning run.”

On Sunday night, the Herd have a much stiffer test as they travel to league leader Telford looking for their first win in Shropshire over the Tigers.

Adding extra spice to the game is that Telford have signed Bison shot stopper from last season Jon Baston, and he could make his home debut against the Herd.

The Tigers currently head the table by seven points clear and have lost just once in their last nine games.

However, last time in Basingstoke the Bison tamed the Tigers.

Sheppard said: “We have played two solid games in their place so far this season and come away with nothing. So I hope we can change that this time, but we know it is going to be a big test.”
