PAUL Petts helped himself to four points, as the Basingstoke under-20 Bison beat their visiting counterparts Nottingham 7-3.

Honours were shared 1-1 in the first 20 minutes, as Josh Richards scored for the Herd.

The middle session was just as tight, as Kyle Goddard edged the home side in front only for Nottingham to level.

The Bison made sure of a lead at the break, after Petts scored from Richards with 24 seconds left in the second period.

Once again the visitors levelled things early in the final session, but the home side then hit four unanswered goals in the final 10 minutes to win the contest.

Samuel Brooks netted the first unassisted and then Petts converted a pass from Oscar Evans.

Two goals in the space of four seconds sealed the win as Connor Hutchinson and Evans scored, with both being assisted by Petts.

The under-18 Bison lost to the visiting Swindon based Okanagan Hockey Academy 8-3.

The visitors scored in the opening two minutes, but Sam Compton equalised assisted by Brooks and Harry Ryder.

Okanagan then scored two quick goals, but Brooks finished off a move which involved Rhys McCormack and Cameron Buckle to make it 3-2 at 31:52.

However, the home then shipped five unanswered goals, before Buckle from Compton wrapped up the scoring.

The Basingstoke under-15 Bison South Two side went down 5-1 at Streatham. Alexander Smith scored their only goal assisted by Cain Russell.
