THE Basingstoke Bison can take another step towards a place in the final four of the English Premier League Cup, when they face their arch local rivals the Guildford Flames on Saturday night.

There are sure to be fireworks in this derby clash as the Herd look to avenge a 5-1 beating at the Spectrum last month.

This was the Flames only win in their last seven games and the Bison’s only loss in 10, which is sure to add extra spice to the clash.

Guildford signed their seventh import last week, as they tried to snap their losing streak, while the Bison moved into a semi-final berth in the cup group after their best weekend of the campaign as they beat Swindon and Milton Keynes.

This is where they want to stay and Herd head coach Doug Sheppard said: “I want us to carry on from last weekend, as we played the best we have all season. If we do this we will be difficult to beat and being just a one game weekend, it is vital we win to keep up with the leaders.”

The Bison have no game on Sunday, so the Buffalo take centre stage at the Basingstoke Arena, as they take on their arch local rivals the Wightlink Buccaneers in a game which starts at 6.30pm.
