THE Basingstoke Bison recorded their biggest away win of the season, as they beat the Manchester Phoenix 7-2, which moved them up to fourth in the English Premier League table.

The Herd enjoyed their first ever visit to Blackpool, as they dominated the game out shooting their hosts 64-24.

Despite this it was the Phoenix who struck first from Jakub Langhammer in the third minute, before goals from Derek Roehl and Dan Davies made it 2-1 to the visitors at the first period.

The second session saw the Bison extend their lead to 4-1, thanks to a brace from man of the match Vanya Antonov.

The Herd made sure of the victory with three more goals in final period as Grant Rounding scored his first of the season, after Rene Jarolin had netted the Bison's fifth and Davies completed the visitor's scoring, as he along with Antonov finished the night with an impressive 2+2.

It was left to Edgars Bebris to complete the scoring three minutes from time.

The Bison will hope to extend their winning streak to seven games on Saturday (6.30pm) when the Sheffield Steeldogs are the visitors.
